I Take it Back, Jason

Jason Whitlock has become my new favorite sportswriter. Yes, I gave him a hard time in my last post, but now I hear that ESPN has fired him for criticizing Mike Lupica and saying

Part of the reason I was leaving Page 2 was because I was uncomfortable with
Page 2’s relationship with Scoop Jackson. Much of his writing is childish,
anti-white and a caricature of a negative black stereotype. I didn’t say it in
the blog interview, but it’s my belief that it is irresponsible for the World
Wide Leader to publish much of what Scoop writes.

Tremendous. Scoop’s idiocy can only be described as imagine if Steven A. Smith had a column. Lupica is a sad and bitter little man.

More from Whitlock:

I take being a journalist/columnist very seriously. To me, being a contract
employee for ESPN did not mean I’d surrendered my right to blast the World Wide
Leader in Sports for making the awful TV show “Playmakers,” employing as expert
analysts clownish buffoons with drug problems such as Rush Limbaugh and Michael
Irvin, and publishing the gangsta-posturing rantings of a poor writer.

Bravo, Mr. Whitlock. Bravo. I wish all journalists took their responsibilities as seriously. ESPN, you are idiots and asshats. You always pander to the absolute lowest common denominator. If you did a better job, you would be comfortable enough to endure some criticism. You lack confidence because your programming is crap and you know it. The firing of Jason Whitlock shows that you have no sack.

Why yes, I am ready for some football

There are some in the football watching/commenting community who will talk about how tough this guy is or that guy is and often will talk about some defensive player who is a tough guy. Quarterbacks are the toughest players, period. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong. Those who say, they should put the QB in a skirt when anyone tries to protect them are as stupid as they are sexist.

One of the ESPN guys, Jason Whitlock, commented earlier that Chris Simms wasn’t tough enough because his dad was a pro-QB, so he didn’t have the hunger of insert some other guy here. Um, yeah, you got that right. They only had to take out his SPLEEN. Thankfully, Whitlock's regular beat is Kansas City, so civilized people do not have to endure his stupidity. This is one of my pet peeves. Sportswriters love to tell you why this team wins or that team wins or this player is great, or this guy sucks. Then, the second the facts change, new story. One minute Chris Simms is a pussy. In 6 weeks, when he comes back, spleenless, Whitlock will write how he is the toughest guy around – because of the toughness instilled in him by his dad.
It is thought the injury occurred in the second quarter. Simms took several hard
hits and left the game for two plays in the second half but returned to help the
Bucs take the lead in the fourth quarter. Simms also has bruised ribs.
Football is crazy.

The other crazy thing is that on a Sunday night, there is no real highlight show anymore to tell you what happened in all the games. I don’t have time to watch more than 15 minutes of football a week. So, I want to see a highlight show Sunday nights. Instead I get Sportscenter yammering about Golf and then a 20 minute NASCAR feature. To quote TMQ, “Ye, Gods”

I Lied

Fuck it. Just letting my readers know that if you are a Republican, then you believe in voter suppression. That makes you a pigfucker. Period.

William and Mary won't do

This is just embarrassing. The alma mater is filled with idiots and children. We have people quoting Stalin, we have frat boys publishing their sexploits with other students, top it off with conservative douchebags and no thank you, I will not be sending in my $50 this year to keep our ranking in US News and World Report.

I blame the conservatives. I blame the liberals. I blame the administration. I blame the alumni. I blame you, my readers. Everyone needs to grow up and spend their time thinking about how to actually educate some young people for $45k/year.
“Their campaigns attacked Dr. Wright's letter, defended fraternities and strong
sports programs”
Frats and Sports. Beer and Circus.

Where the wind comes sweeping down the plain

I will admit, I didn't see the game, see the call or whatever. Also, I will admit to doing absolutely no research of the quality of the University of Oklahoma. However, is there any doubt that the former employers of Barry Switzer are running one of the 10 shittiest universities around?

College sports is a blight on America.

My First Cat Post

I don't have a cat.

The KKK took my baby away

Thank you Senator Byrd. I have seen the light. There are times when I am not completely cynical. These are the times that I am stupid. Fuck it all. Accountability. I couldn't believe a Dem would place the hold. I was wrong. I had really hoped that the taliban had become so overtly evil that there really would be a rise of good - like in the Stand. But, nobody is walking to Colorado. No-siree-bob. The party out of power just wants the spoils of power. Pigs at the trough.

Don't get me wrong, the taliban is evil and soulless. The alternative is superior. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. For me, I need to disengage from politics more. No more politics posts. More posts about my cat.
