I guess that makes me a cynic. This article is awesome.

Unless you’re a cynic, or an economist, I realize you might have trouble believing that the intricacies of the nation’s tax code would impinge on something as sacred as the birth of a child. But it appears that you would be wrong.

Yes, people are inducing labor to have babies in December, instead of January - for the $500 tax break. This touches upon the earlier Entropy post on how the world is just getting worse. Some of it is greed. Some of it is republicanism. Some of it is the failure of art and society and all things spiritual to keep up with technology.
