Really, he listened to the defense lawyers and came to this conclusion. That is some fancy lawyering you are doing. I mean, the defense lawyers are just interested in the truth coming out. They have no dog in the fight at all.
I don't know if anyone was raped at that party, but I know this much, no one is getting convicted. That has nothing to do with the facts of the case, however.

I was thinking more about why I am blogging so much about the Duke case. This case is really about the beast. 6-6-6, Ronald Wilson Reagan. (Colbert did a great bit on the connection) Opportunity is one of the great things about America -- or at least the concept of America. Opportunity makes freedom real. Without opportunity, people are just under the tyranny of poverty. Freedom and Opportunity make America America.
That is what makes the beast so grotesque. The embrace of the beast by the American people is a repudiation of the very values we proclaim. Reagan told the country that poor people were the enemy. Any compassion or even caring about those less fortunate was trampled under Reagan era greed. The beast’s objective was to dismantle the New Deal – fuck Horatio Alger, I got mine. The embrace of this philosophy by the nation is the great shame of the last 25 years.
So what does that have to do with Duke? In post beast America, when wealthy white children are accused of raping a poor black woman, we all know who the villain will be. Wilt Chamberlain said “No one roots for Goliath.” Not in America today.
The lack of DNA evidence does make me suspicious. I don't know if this woman was raped. What could have happened is that she showed up there (possibly wasted) and some really nasty things were done and probably threatened. Now she is getting some revenge. That is possible. It is also possible that these fucks raped her. Thing is, if you work for Duke, it could only be one of those things.
